GENERAL MX200 QUESTIONS
All MX200 Entries:
Q: On the MX-200, will I be able to use more than one instance of the VST plug in at a time?

A: The MX200 unit is a stereo in/out unit. You can only have one instance of the plug-in in a VST host at once. The processing is done in the MX200 while the plug-in is for remote control only. There is no audio carried via the USB connection at this time.

I cannot get my computer to recognize the MX-200, what is the problem? Or, I cannot launch the MX-Edit program. The suggestion is to check to see if the driver is installed properly. If not you will need to re-install it. Check in your device manager under sound video and game controllers. This section should show the Lexicon MX-200 Control device. To find this, go to: Start, Control Panel, System. Hardware, Device Manager. Click on the plus next to sound video and game controllers. If you need to, un-plug the USB cable while the device manager is open. When you re-plug in the device you should see a device show up in this section. If the device shows up as USB audio device then the drivers are not properly loaded. This means you will need to re-install the MX-200 drivers and software.
Q: I have a Digital signal sent to the S/PDIF input and the MX-200 shows the "Digital In" light, why don't I hear any signal?

A: The MX-200 will only allow for either Analog OR Digital input at one time, not both. The "Digital In" LED will indicate the presence of a digital input signal and proper lock to sample rates of either 44.1kHz or 48kHz only. For the digital input to be active, you will need to set the utility mode under the "In" (input select) page to either "An" for analog or "dI" for digital. Note that the factory default is "dI" (digital input) when S/PDIF is present.

Q: I engaged a Bypass on one processor, why don't I hear any sound?

A: When MX200 is set for "Bypass Mute" (in the Utility Menu) and Routing 2 (Cascade) is selected, the signal has been interrupted at P1 or P2 – and no sound will be output. Change Routing Options, or change to "Bypass Dry" (the default setting) in the Utility Menu.

Q: Can both of the Tap tempos be set for the same rate? I am trying to press both of the tap buttons at the same time and they are not responding correctly?

A: The tap tempo functions for each processor are separate. If you attempt to press both front panel buttons for tap tempo they will not both respond at the same time. It is necessary to set them individually or to use the MIDI sync feature. Using MIDI sync will set both tempos to the same rate based on the incoming MIDI tempo. In this mode (MIDI Sync) you will not be able to tap the front panel buttons and they will be lit solid yellow (not flashing).

Q: Can both bypass buttons be pressed at the same time on the MX-200?

A: The front panel button controls for bypass will not allow both bypass settings to be set simultaneously. You will need to press them slightly apart from each other. To engage Bypass on both processors at once, use the optional two-button footswitch control jack on the rear panel.

I cannot get the MX-200 to sync to my Recording Software Tempo/ MIDI clock source.

The MX-200 will sync to MIDI clock messages present on either the MX-200's MIDI input or via MIDI on the USB port. First, the recording application must be capable of and set to transmit MIDI clock signal. Second, if you choose the MX-USB MIDI port you will not have access to the VST control simultaneously. Using both MIDI sync and VST control of the MX-200 simultaneously will require an additional MIDI output port on your computer. Lastly, when MIDI sync is active the Tap Tempo LEDS on the MX-200 will be solid yellow (steady, not flashing).

I cannot use the VST plug-in. I have just installed Cubase LE software and cannot access the MX-200 VST plug-in.

Make sure your MX-200 is not being used as a default MIDI port device. Check under the VST host applications' MIDI device settings and de-select the Lexicon MX-200 control port as an Input or Output device for MIDI communications.

Q: What Footswitch can be used with the MX-200? A: The footswitch must contain two momentary switches with a TRS (tip ring and sleeve) connector. The replacement we sell is model LEXDFS available on our web-store, here:
