| The Core-32 or Core2 is sharing an IRQ with the SCSI controller. Is that acceptable? | The Core-32 and Core2 cards can share IRQs. If you think that sharing an IRQ is causing a performance problem you can try getting the cards to take separate IRQs by one of the following methods. Try changing the PCI slot that theCore-32 or Core2 card is in or the slot that the card sharing the IRQ is in. Try switching the spots between the Core32 and Core2 card and the SCSI card. That may help to get Lexicon onto its own IRQ. Check your BIOS. If you have PnP OS aware set to no, try changing it to yes and see what happens. WARNING: changing settings in your BIOS can effect the operation of your computer. It is advisable to note your settings before changing them. |

| Question:. Is the Athlon completely compatible with Core2? | Although some customers have reported success using Core2 in an Athlon processor equipped computer, others have reported crashing and freezing with the Athlon processor. Lexicon has not had success in our tests with the Athlon processor and currently we do not recommend it's use with the Core 2. Lexicon has been made aware of problems with the Athlon processor and the Motorola 56000 chip used in Lexicon Studio products. We are monitoring this problem in hopes that AMD and Motorola will arrive at a future solution. Until further notice, the Athlon processor is not qualified or supported by Lexicon for it's Lexicon Studio products. |
| Does Lexicon have any hardware recommendations for computer systems for the Core2 & Core32? | Lexicon's recommendations for computer systems for the Core2 & Core32 are as follows: Pentium Processor, PII or PIII recommended. Intel SE440BX motherboard and chipset, without onboard soundcard. AGP Video card. 64 MB RAM (this is minimum, 128 is better). A/V compatible IDE hard drive, dedicated to audio (in addition to system drive). Windows 95 or 98 operating system. Parallel Port interfaceable MIDI controller (as opposed to USB interfaceable) SoundBlaster also make a number of compatible MIDI interfaces. |

| What is a Universal Serial Bus? | A Universal Serial Bus is a simple and flexible way to connect external devices to your desktop or notebook PC. A single connector type for many uses, including devices that in the past used serial ports, parallel ports, the keyboard port, the mouse port, and game ports as well as new kinds of devices. All kinds of devices can be hooked to the PC through the same connector simultaneously - modems, printers, mice, joysticks, scanners, keyboards, etc. A USB uses less real estate than existing ports (particularly important for laptops) Reduces requirements for PCI slots, allowing footprint reduction for desktop systems. |
| Is the PCI card designed for 32-bit 33MHz PCI slots? Can I use the card in a 64-bit 66MHz PCI slot? | No - the card cannot be used in a 64-bit 66MHz PCI slot. We only work with the 32 bit slots. |
| Is Lexicon planning on introducing a plug-in for other PC based systems such as Cubase, et al, in the future? | At this time, Lexicon has no plans to develop a reverb based plug-in for VST, Direct X, Etc. |
| How much disk space is needed to record audio at 48kHz and 24 bit? | For a 1 minute mono recording you will need approximately 8MB. Double this for 1 minute of stereo. Don't forget to multiply Megabytes by the number of tracks you will be recording (e.g. 4 tracks of mono you will need 4 x 8 = 32MB per min.). THE MATH: 48,000 samples per sec x 24 bits --------------------------- 1,152,000 bits per sec. 1,152,000 ? 8 (bits per byte) = 144,000 bytes per sec. Obviously, if you want to figure this out for different bit rates/sampling rates change the numbers and perform the same calculations as above. |
| How do I disable my USB ports? | To disable USB, Right click on My Computer/Properties/Device manager. Click the plus next to Universal serial bus controller. Double click on the first item under Universal serial bus controller (It should be USB root Hub). In the properties menu put a check in disable in this hardware profile. Do the same for the other entries under Universal serial bus controller. Please make sure that before you disable the USB port that the Mouse and Keyboard are not USB. Also if you have a USB printer remember to re-enable the USB port when you want to use it. |
| Does Lexicon have plans for Core32 and Core2 support of Mac OS X? | Lexicon has no plans for support of Mac OS X. |
| Do the Core2 and Core32 run on MAC Clones? | No. Lexicon does not support MAC Clones. |
| Can the Lexicon card be put in a shared PCI/ISA slot? | You would most likely need a separate PCI slot, not shared. There may be a way to force a change through the BIOS, but you would have to contact the PC manufacturer for ideas on that. |
| Can I use a "Y" adapter to split or connect more than one SCSI signals? | No, SCSI signals travel on a parallel bus. You can hook up more than one SCSI device by daisy-chaining them together. Usually SCSI devices will include two SCSI connectors to allow the device to be daisy-chained. |
| Can EDO and FP RAM be mixed? | For a system to benefit from EDO RAM, it must be capable of addressing EDO RAM, and all memory installed must be EDO. Some systems will allow you to mix FPM and EDO RAM, but the EDO modules will perform as if they were FPM. Check with your PC manufacturer. (All DRAM addresses data the way a spreadsheet does, by organizing data into rows and columns. When Fast-page Mode (FPM) DRAM accesses data it must find the row and column, and then read the data before moving on to find the row and column for the next piece of data. EDO RAM speeds this process up by allowing the steps to overlap. EDO RAM still must find the row and column of the data before it can read it, but now it can find the row and column for the next address, while it reads the data at the first address (and so on). This speeds up data transfer rates, since EDO RAM can access data continuously without waiting for addresses to be located.) |
| Are there any known problems with assigning IRQ 2 to the Core 2? | There hasn't been any known or reported problems with Core 2 on IRQ #2. Usually when it is installed it doesn't get put on IRQ 2. The common IRQs we have seen it go to are 9,10,11 and sometimes 3, but thist all depends on how many devices are in the PC and what resources are left. It should be all right if you can get it so it is only card with the holder for PCI steering. |
| Are Soyo motherboards and chipsets compatible with Lexicon Studio? | Lexicon has not tested the Studio products on this platform and we do not support the platform. We have had one report from a customer UNSUCCESSFULLY attempting to run Lexicon Studio Core2 the Soyo board with the ETEQ chipset. |
| What version is my motherboard BIOS? | Identify the BIOS type your computer is currently using by observing the first few lines on the display after a cold start. For example: Awards BIOS 4.51 will be displayed at the top left of the screen. A BIOS ID string will be displayed on the lower lefthand corner of the screen. Somewhere in this string should be a group of numbers that reflect the date (-120992) Note this date and number. Pressing the Pause/Break button will halt the display so that the BIOS type and version can be noted. Another method for viewing the date of your motherboard BIOS: From the START menu select RUN Type DEBUG At the cursor (-) type D FFFF:5 L 8 and press ENTER Note: The BIOS type and date is also displayed when the computer is restarted. This string may disappear too quickly for you to read it. Try holding down a key while powering up your computer. This will cause a keyboard error message to be displayed and until you release the key the BIOS identifier string will remain displayed. |

| The following error messages may appear when booting VST after removal of the Event Gina® card and installation of the Lexicon Studio card and drivers: 'Could not create native audio engine', 'Could not load ASIO Lexicon Studio'. | Reason: The Event Gina® card uses the same VENDOR ID number as Lexicon Studio. This VEN ID number is entered in the Windows95® Registry when Gina® is installed. The entry remains in the Windows95® registry after the Gina® card is removed. When the Core32 is installed, the registry sees it as a previously installed Gina® card and attempts to configure it as such. WARNING - If you are not familiar with accessing and making changes to the Registry settings, please contact Lexicon Customer Service Technical Support or your computer manufacturer or retailer. WARNING Before modifying any of the system files or Registry entries a backup copy should be made in the event that irreversable damage is done to one of these files. The CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT,\WINDOWS\WIN.INI and WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI. should be copied and renamed before attempting to modify them. This can be done from Windows95 Explorer. Method #1 - Press the start button, press run, type REGEDIT, Select Export from the Registry menu, Choose a file name. If necessary the Registry may be Imported by selecting Import from the Registry menu. Method #2 - There is a Registry backup and restore utility in the Other\Misc\Cfgback folder on the Windows 95 CD-ROM (CFGBACK.EXE and CFGBACK.HLP) it is very easy to use. If this is not available do the following: Method #3 - Before modifying any of the entries in REGEDIT, copy the SYSTEM.DAT file, this is the most current version of the regisrty, and rename it SYSTEM.DA1. Also copy and rename the SYSTEM.DA0 file, this is the most resent backup of the SYSTEM.DAT file. In the event that both of these are damaged during your troubleshooting session, you can use these new backup files to restore the registry to it's previous state. On a system that has multiple users, a copy of the USER.DAT and USER.DA0 should also be made. These files are hidden and must have their attributes changed before they can be copied. From DOS type - attrib -s -h -r C:\Windows\SYSTEM.DA? enter, then type attrib -s -h -r C:\Windows\USER.DA?. These files are now visible in Windows explorer or MSDOS mode. After troubleshooting session, these files attributes should be reset by using the command attrib +s +h +r. Windows Explorer may show these files even after you have changed the attributes back. The reason is not known. _______________ Run Regedit - Click the Start button, select RUN and type regedit, click OK Click the "+" sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Click the "+" sign next to Enum Click the "+" sign next to PCI Highlight the VEN_1057&DEV_1801 entry(s) and delete them. Close regedit and reboot the computer. Windows95® will automatically reconfigure the card and the registry entry upon reboot. If there is a GINA® card installed it too will reconfigure. |

| Installation problems in a DELL Dimension T450. | Here are our experiences with configuring the DELL Dimension T450 to work with Lexicon Studio. One general statement needs to be made here. This problem appears to be due to a wave Voice/Modem pci card. The symptom is MEMORY PARITY ERROR blue screen is displayed at boot time. If there is no modem pci card, then the problem is not the same (at least as we understand it currently) The T450 has 1 shared isa/pci slot and 4 fully masterable pci slots To fix the problem: Note: Please follow the manufacturers instructions for opening and closing your computer and removal and addition of cards.
The problem seems to be caused by the 3Comm Voice/Modem card wanting to be installed after the Lexicon Card. By removing the card first and installing the Core card we force the system into that sequence of installation. Simply removing the device from the System Manager then powering down , installing the Core card and restarting may still install the modem card first making it fail. Reinstalling it in the same slot it was installed in the first place may not reassign resources as it normally would. It is not slot dependent from what we can tell , but because of the way pNp assigns resources we must do the moves described above. Please note - this scenario was encountered and tested with a Lexicon Studio Core2 system but could occur with a Core32 system as well. |

| Computer reboots when Lexicon IDS sound system is removed from the Windows® 95 Device manager. | Go into the Device Manager, open the System devices catagory, highlight the PCI bus entry and click the properties button. Under the IRQ steering tab make sure IRQ Steering is unchecked. Notes: Windows? versions 4.00.950 and 4.00.950A will not exibit this problem. These versions do not have an IRQ steering tab or the option to enable Windows? to steer IRQs. IRQ steering is done by the BIOS. Windows? versions 4.00.950B and 4.00.950C will exibit this problem only if the option to enable IRQ Steering is enabled. Windows?, by default, does not have this option enabled. (Refer to Article number Q182604 in the Microsoft knowledgebase for a complete description of PCI bus IRQ steering.) |

| Clicking in audio with an ultrawide SCSI card | (This is from the Steinberg Cubase online help files) High Speed SCSI Cards: High performance SCSI cards like Adaptec AHAA-2940UW or other Ultra-Wide SCSI host adapters can block the PCI bus because of the high data rate, which may cause crackling/clicks. This usually occurs with bus master audio cards (eg. Lexicon Studio). If you experience crackling/clicks while using a high performance SCSI card, try reducing the maximal transfer rate of the SCSI bus to 10 MB/s. The 10 MB/s setting is still enough for up to 32 simultaneous audio tracks. Pl ease refer to the manual that came with the SCSI card for information on how to change this setting. In addition, if the computer contains a PCI bridge it might help to put the SCSI and audio card on separate PCI segments. For example; a computer with 6 slots might be implemented as two PCI segments with 3 slots each. If a board has got more than 5 PCI slots it will definitely have a PCI bridge. The board's manual should explain which slots are on the same segment. |

| It looks like there is a conflict in the interrupts, but I can't change the interrupt settings by hand, so what is the solution? | The best and safest way to change IRQ settings is by physically moving the card to another PCI slot, this will change the IRQ. The only other way you may be able to change this is through the BIOS, and the manufacturer of the PC would have to advise you on this one. WARNING - If you are not familiar with accessing and making changes to the default BIOS settings, please contact Lexicon Customer Service Technical Support or your computer manufacturer or retailer. Changing settings in your BIOS can effect your computer's operation. It is advisable to note your settings before changing any, in the event you wish to change them back. Please follow the manufacturers instructions for opening and closing your computer and removal and addition of cards. |

| What drives should I use SCSI or Ultra IDE? | SCSI vs.Ultra IDE Both SCSI and Ultra IDE offer distinct advantages: SCSI: Benefits - fast performance, removable media, lots of choices of high performance drives Liabilities - use of PCI card to interface to the computer increases PCI bus traffic. IDE: Supports 2 disk drives ATA-2: Supports four drives Benefits - drives approach SCSI performance, inexpensive, using the IDE bus decreases activity on the PCI bus. Liabilities - the IDE bus is slower (in most cases this is not the limiting factor) fewer model choices, no removable media. IDE allows only one device to be active on a cable at one time. Some recommendations: PI 200, use Ultra IDE. Less stress on the PCI bus for slower computer. PII 233,266,300, onboard SCSI is ideal. Ultra IDE or PCI SCSI will perform well. |

| V4.20 Addendum #3: | When using an ASIO application (such as Cubase), the available sources and destinations of Punch and Reverb are those which are enabled (active) in Cubase. If, for example, you wish to route the PC-90 from the 10T A/D 1&2 to the 10T D/A 1&2 you must activate the corresponding Input and Output bus in Cubase. The Lexicon control panel must be exited, then re-launched each time a change is made to Cubase's active streams list. When using the Wave drivers, if the Monitor button is turned on, all channels will be available for selection in the Punch and Reverb source/destination lists. When the Wave audio application is in play, only the channels that it is using will be available to Punch and Reverb routing. The same applies if the audio application has been configured so that it keeps its audio channels open even when it is in stop mode (see the specific application's User Guide for details on how to set this up). When there is no audio application running, or the application is in stop mode and has not been configured to keep the audio channels open, all channels will be available to Punch and Reverb routing. (Also refer to Addendum #6) |
| V4.20 Addendum #2: | If you are using the Wave drivers and make any changes to the Routing Tab in the Lexicon control panel, you MUST restart Windows in order to have these changes take effect. If the ASIO drivers are being used, it is not necessary to restart Windows. Simply quit then re-launch the audio application in order for the routing changes to take effect. If you are using Cubase, for example, and see that some of the Input or Output buses have a blank label, this is an indication that the application must be restarted. If you are using Cubase and have launched the Lexicon control panel from the Windows Taskbar, Cubase must be quit before changes can be made to the Routing tab. Note: At least one Input pair and one Output pair must be enabled in order to launch Cubase. If no streams are active, an error message will come up saying that the ASIO Lexicon Studio v4.2 driver could not be loaded. If this occurs, quit Cubase, launch the LexPanel from the Windows Taskbar, turn on one or more I/O streams, then re-launch Cubase. |
| V4.20 Addendum #12: | Changes to the clock source in the Lexicon Control panel are not reliably recalled. |

| What does LPC technology do to speed up my computer as you claim in your literature? | Our literature says: "LexiPowerCore technology works with the new generation system architecture to accelerate the host computer for audio processing. This is made possible by a unique combination of on-board DSP, RAM and proprietary LPC processing. Our Core-32 card delivers the power to make your system rock." On board DSP- We are using the latest, fastest 56301 DSP. This chip has built in PCI features that we are using as well. On board RAM- This will be used in the future for when we implement our own disk management. On board mixing - By mixing audio directly on the Core32 during punch record, we do away with the latency problems of mixing on the computer's CPU. Bus Master - The biggest advantage we have is that we are a PCI bus master. Bus-mastering support allows the Core32 to take over the system bus, and move data into or out of system memory directly. All the CPU has to do is program the operation, and the Core32 takes it from there. LPC processing - This is a marketing name given to the above features and our design. |

| What does Aservice do? | Aservice is used for getting responses back from the card and for popping up notifications such as clock source and Sample Rates. |
| What causes the "PC-AV error - failed to recover device from playback/recording" messages? Does it mean that Logic thinks the channels are still in use? | It generally means that Logic is not able to initialize the audio hardware. This can occur if the audio driver has crashed, or is being used by another program. |
| What causes the "CPU or Disk too slow" messages? | This is the response that Emagic has been giving users in reaction to people asking this question. "There can be many things. This can simply mean that the number of audio tracks and effects that you are playing requires more processing power than your CPU offers, or that the number of tracks has exceeded the ability of your hard drive/controller to deliver the data quickly enough. Any system will eventually give this error, if you add enough tracks and effects. Sometimes disk fragmentation, graphics card problems or other hardware conflicts can cause this to happen with a DSP allocation that the system would normally be able to handle." |

| Does Lexicon have plans for a driver update to support Windows® 2000, NT or ME for the Core 2 and Core 32? | The Lexicon Studio systems are compatible on Windows 95 and 98 only. Lexicon has no plans for support of Windows® 2000, Windows® ME or Windows® NT. |
| Does having two audio cards add noise to the audio recording using the Core2? | No, having a second sound card in your system would not affect the audio performance of the Core2. The only thing that could happen would be that your system would not be able to assign the new sound card an IRQ without it sharing with the Lexicon Studio system. This could happen if your system does not have any free IRQ's after installing the Lexicon Studio system. It is also possible that it would not be a problem, or that the problem could be resolved by moving cards around in your system. |
| Does DirectX need to be installed for Lexicon Studio to work properly? | Lexicon Studio does not need to have DirectX installed. The PC90 and MP100 are hardware based effect plugins. |
| Do we require a seperate Midi Interface such as the Steinberg PC-Midi? | The Lexicon Studio hardware has no MIDI connectors on it. |
| Can you use DirectX plugins with Lexicon Studio? | DirectX will accept our driver in Wave mode - it will simulate DirectX by means of our Wave driver. |
| Can the Lexicon Studio System be used as a Midi Interface? | The Lexicon Studio hardware has no MIDI connectors on it. A separate MIDI interface is required. |
| Can Core32 and Core2 be installed on the same system? | You can have a Core32 OR a Core2 in your system at a time, but not both together. |
| Can an AES signal be connected to an SPDIF input? | AES formats AES/EBU and S/PDIF are very closely related, although there are very slight differences in the digital information sent. In many cases it is possible to run one into the other with good results - it really depends on the two devices you are connecting. Some devices actually allow you to switch which format is carried on their digital connections, which solves the problem. The two formats are a bit different electrically though. S/PDIF is high impedence and unbalanced, while AES is a low impedence, balanced format. This means that AES will survive long runs much better (up to 100 meters) and will have less problems with RF interference. The levels the two operate at are also different, which might cause distortion problems when running one type into the other. Try using a balanced to unbalanced adapter described below. XLR female: P1---------P3 and tie to ground P2---------200ohm resistor---------Male RCA tip |___ 200ohm resistor -------- tie to ground RCA male: tie shield to ground Your best bet is to run AES into AES, and S/PDIF into S/PDIF. If you must interconnect them, use an appropriate format converter. But in a pinch, you can try running one into the other for a quick transfer. Disclaimer: The S/PDIF consumer digital input was not designed to accept input from an AES source. The above suggestions may not yield reliable results and should not be used for critical digital audio transfers. For a long term solution to this problem consider upgrading your digital audio interface or use a format converter. |
| Are there still plans for Lexicon Studio to support an NT version of Steinberg's Nuendo? | We do not have plans for NT. |
| Are there plans to support the BeOS version of Nuendo? | We do not have plans for Beos right now. We are still currently working on the MAC drivers that will make the Blue and White G3s compatible, but there is no exact date of when they will be available. When they are available it will be posted on http://www.lexicon.com. |
| Are there audio input level meters on the LDI12T or LDI10T? | There are no audio input level meters on the LDI12T or LDI10T. Input level metering must be done with the audio application. |
| Will there be a delay between input and output when recording with the Lexicon Studio System? | The Punch feature on the Lexicon Control Panel, allows you to monitor your signal witout latency (with no delay). This will mean, however, that you will not hear any input processing performed by Steinberg, i.e. host based compression, delay, chorusing etc..... these would have to be done after recording. |
| Will an Apple Sound Manager compatible driver be available to use with Lexicon Studio? | We have no immediate plans to implement Apple Sound Manager drivers for the Lexicon Studio system. Please check our website (www.lexicon.com) for updated information. |
| Where will it be available? | Most of the Lexicon dealers that sell Steinberg and Sonic Foundry products will carry it. |
| What is Emphasis? | This selection in the Core32 control panel applies de-emphasis to the analog outputs. Audio data recorded with emphasis has a high frequency boost. The intention was to improve noise performance. It is not a method widely used today but may be needed if the audio data has been recorded with another interface that applied pre-emphasis to the analog inputs. |
| What are the minimum system requirements for Lexicon Studio? | Minimum System Requirements: Macintosh: PC: |
| Is it possible to connect multiple LDI 12T interfaces for more than 8 chls ADAT I/O? | You can only connect one LDI 12T to a Core 32 card and currently this is the only ADAT option for the Lexicon Studio system. You can connect up to 3 LDI 10Ts which are the 8 analog channels I/O, giving you 24 analog and your 8 ADATs. |
| Do you have any future plans to support BeOS? | We do not have any scheduled plans to develop drivers for BeOS. |
| Can the Punch feature create distortion upon normal playback? | You should not hear distortion when using the Punch feature. If you do hear distortion try bringing the Mix Level down a bit. Punch sums all selected inputs and creates a mono mix which it sends to all selected outputs. If you have several inputs selected it can overload. Bringing the Mix Level down should solve that problem. |
| Are Windows NT drivers available for any or all of your products? | There are no current plans as of now to create drivers for Lexicon Studio on the NT platform, we do however receive many requests for this and the quantity of these requests are noted. Please check into our website at http://www.lexicon.com from time to time to see if anything changes! |

| When playing files from my SCSI drive, why does the sound have a warbling effect? | When playing files from a SCSI drive that is connect to a SCSI adapter that utilizes a DMA channel (such as most Adaptec adapters) you may experience a warbling effect in the sound playback. This can occur if your sound card uses DMA and its DMA channel is set to a higher number than your SCSI adapter. To fix this problem, set the DMA channel used by your sound card is a lower number than that used by your SCSI adapter. So, if your SCSI adapter is set to DMA channel 5 and your sound card is set to DMA channel 7, try reconfiguring them so the sound card uses DMA channel 5 and your SCSI adapter uses DMA channel 7. |

| The initial transfer of audio from an ADAT (8 tracks) goes fine but when I then try to transfer more tracks into the same song pops appear in the audio. | Try muting the first 8 tracks when transferring your second 8 tracks to see if that addresses the popping. The first 8 tracks can be un-muted once the second pass has been completed. |
| Stuttering audio in Sound Forge | Selecting Passive Update for Video and Time Display from the Options menu, will lower the priority of the repainting for these displays during playback. If your computer is relatively slow and you are experiencing gapping during playback, or the machine just seems to be bogging down during playback, try turning on Passive Update. This will force the repaints for the Video and Time Display to only update if there is time to do so. In most cases you won't even be able to tell if it is missing some updates, so turning these options on can decrease the amount of overhead during playback with little inconvenience. Note: You can only access these parameters when an audio file is open. The Play and Record Meters in Sound Forge take a small amount of processing overhead during playback and record. If you are experiencing gapping during playback and you have the Play Meters showing, try turning off the Play Meters by selecting the Play Meters option in the View menu. If you are experiencing gapping during record and you have the Monitor option enabled in the Record dialog, try turning off the Record Meters by un-checking the Monitor option. There are also some Windows settings that may affect playback in Sound Forge: Choosing system configuration settings other than the default Windows 95 settings can result in reduced performance from Sound Forge, as well as Windows 95. To check these settings go to System under Control Panel and click the Performance tab. File System and Virtual Memory should both be set to 32-bit. In the advanced settings area of the window, click on File System. In the File System Properties dialog, the Hard Disk tab setting for Read-ahead optimization should be set to Full and the Troubleshooting tab should have all of the options unchecked. Now, click on Graphics in the Advanced Graphics Settings dialog. In most cases this setting should be set to Full. If you are experiencing unexplained glitching in your audio playback, try different settings. However, if changing these settings doesn't clear up the problem, change them back. Finally, click on the Virtual Memory button under the Advanced settings of the Performance page. In most cases, you should choose to let Windows 95 handle your virtual memory. |

| Lexicon Studio Installation Troubleshooting | If after installing Lexicon Studio drivers and restarting your computer your computer boots with the message: 'Core32 or Core2 not installed' or 'not working properly', for Core2, go to http://www.lexicon.com/downloads/core2_current_studio_download.htm and download the latest software version. Follow the directions on the same web page for update instructions. For Core32, go to http://www.lexicon.com/downloads/studio_download.htm and download Core32 PC V4.20 Patch: C32V420P3.exe. Double click on the file, let it run (using all of the defaults), then restart your computer. If, when attempting to launch the Lexicon Control Panel for Core2, it flashes for a second and then minimizes, go to http://www.lexicon.com/downloads/core2_current_studio_download.htm and download the latest software version. Follow the directions on the same web page for update instructions.

| The Lexicon Studio system is sharing an IRQ with one or more other devices (other than the "IRQ Holder for PCI Steering") | Here's how to check for IRQ sharing: Go to the Start menu and select Settings, Control Panel. Double click to open the System control panel. Go to the Device Manager and double click on Computer. Look for Lexicon IDS Sound System in the list of devices. Take note of what IRQ it is on. Check to see if there is anything else using that IRQ (it is okay for it to share with IRQ Holder for PCI Steering).

| Logic 4.1.1 can record only 8 tracks at a time. | Yes, the track total can be higher, but you can only record 8 tracks. |
| At this time Logic 4.1.1 does not work properly in ASIO or VST Plugin modes. | We strongly recommend using Logic 4.1.1 in MMIO mode only. In addition, we recommend saving a named device setup in MMIO mode, using the device setup program. This will prevent Logic from being "confused" about whether it has been started in MMIO or ASIO mode. Remember to re-boot your computer after any configuration change in MMIO. |

| Could I plug one LDI-12T and one LDI-10T on a Core32? | Yes...It is possible to have one 12t and up to three LDI-10Ts connected at one time. If you want to connect more than one 10T to a Core32 card, you need the LX3 connector. |
